The Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) at the University of Tennessee offers an exciting and challenging leadership development program that prepares students for commissioning as officers in the U.S. Air Force or Space Force. This program is designed to complement and enhance the overall academic experience.

Cadets are students first, focusing on their education while also developing essential leadership skills and upholding the Air Force core values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do. Cadets are also committed to the AFROTC honor code and working toward an Air or Space Force commission.

Air Force ROTC provides a unique advantage after college, with a clear career path as a commissioned officer. Unlike most of your peers, you’ll know your career direction before graduation and will assume a managerial position from day one. Whether you continue your service in the Air Force or Space Force or transition to the private sector, you’ll be equipped with valuable leadership and life skills.

The AFROTC program at the University of Tennessee provides cadets with a strong foundation and a sense of pride, not only as students but also as part of the tradition of Volunteers who have served their country with honor, dignity, and pride.

It’s More Than An Education

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
In Air Force ROTC, you will not only learn the principles of leadership in the classroom, but you will put them into practice through hands-on management experience and valuable leadership-building exercises.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

To prepare for a career as an Air Force or Space Force officer, cadets take courses that focus on the importance of effective leadership, application of leadership concepts and the role of a military leader in today’s society.
